Lucid House 2016 Location: Tepic, México. Status: Ongoing. The plot is located in the outskirts of Tepic, on the new developments of the city. Due to the rectangular proportions of the plot (8 x 16 m) we decided to generate a pair of inner patios in the middle of the plot, between two volumes that occupy the narrow sides of the rectangle. This allowed us, among other things, enclosing ourselves to the street and the adjoining neighbors generating a deep privacy within the house. The materiality of this house, achieved by the uniformity of the surfaces given by the grey stucco, generates strong sensation of unity and a monolithic presence the diverse types of openings in the volume of the house generate different kinds of light in the interior spaces according to the function and activities of the space. All the bedrooms have different and private views to the inner patios. All the house has natural cross ventilation to cool the spaces from the strong temperatures of Tepic during most part of the year. Due to the lack of resources of the client, we decided to use the most common and standard constructive systems for the project to be cheap and easy to build. The cost per square meter of construction was around 250 USD. Team: Andrés Soliz Lazbent Escobedo Hiroshi Ando back to projects |
